Set in the rugged southern Cederberg and hosted by Kromrivier Cederberg Park, this first-of-its-kind trail running event offers a spectacular 3-day wilderness adventure. Whether you race solo or in a team of two, you’ll traverse dramatic valleys, climb remote peaks and chase sunsets across ancient mountain trails — all with limited route markings and GPX navigation.
From the start at the Race Village, at Kromrivier, runners will head up towards Winterbach Parking, then head up their first climb of the day, Tierkloof, where views of the Kromrivier Kloof Valley rise up to meet you. Dropping down to magnificent Eerstekloof, technical trails, breathtaking views and a river crossing at 10.5km await.
Traversing up the undulating Kromrivier Kloof along the Krom River and past the famous Disa Pool, runners will pop out at Bakleikraal. From there the decent begins down the Kromrivier Kloof Valley. Following the single track towards Suikerberg and then down to one final river crossing and getting ready for the fast burn on the jeep track taking them to the finish line back at the Race Village.

Starting at the Race Village, at Kromrivier, runners will head out on the easy flat jeep track towards Winterbach parking, at the start of the Kromrivier valley, a slight left turn will place them on to the contour path (AKA The Red Carpet). The undulating, flowy trail will take them passed the Old Leopard Trap, crossing Eerste Kloof stream, and then Tweede Kloof. Be sure to look out for the Leopard scratch patch as you exit the stream.
Continuing on to Derde Kloof, this is where the fun begins, with the first big climb to the ridge line above. Runners will summit the insane Luna Peak on an out and back route, and then head along the ridge line in a NE direction to summit Winterbach Peak, once again on an out and back route.
Continuing on the technical ridge line trail with the views of the Kromrivier valley below, runners will descend to the TV Kop saddle, where they will drop down towards the Luxury Tents, and cross over the suspension bridge with the last 300m push to the finish back at the race village.

From the Race Village, at Kromrivier, runners will head out on the flat, fast jeep track leading away from Kromrivier to Winterbach parking, turning left onto the single track and heading back home, the flowing trail follows the base of the mountain towards the Luxury Tents, looping around the tents and onto the suspension bridge, the finish line waits as you complete three days of magical trail running.
