Expand your view and immerse yourself in the endless, untamed landscapes of the Cederberg. Sign up for the Aonijie Cederberg Stage Run and discover a trail adventure where every step reveals a new horizon — rugged peaks, ancient rock formations, and skies that stretch forever.
But the real beauty of the Aonijie Cederberg Stage Run, isn’t just in the views, it’s in what you take home with you. You’ll come for the awe-inspiring scenery, but you’ll leave with so much more:
A renewed connection to nature. A deeper belief in your own strength. Moments shared with fellow runners that turn into lifelong memories.
This is more than a race. It’s the kind of adventure that stays with you, long after the dust settles.
Day 1 is a spectacular introduction to the rugged beauty of the Cederberg. The 32.3 km route with 1,230 m of elevation starts on easy jeep tracks before climbing onto scenic contour trails through Eerste, Tweede, and Derde Kloof. The challenge intensifies with a steep ascent to the Ridgeline, followed by breathtaking views from Luna Peak and the 360° panorama at Donkerkloofkop. A long descent leads via Bakleikraal and the Krom River back to Disa Pool, before the final jeep track returns runners to the race village.
Day 3 is short, fast, and scenic. The stage begins with a steep climb up Kromrivier Pass before leading to the iconic Stadsaal Caves. From there, flowing jeep tracks and singletrack descend toward the Krom River, followed by a fast run back to the race village. Crossing the suspension bridge marks the final metres of an exhilarating stage, bringing an unforgettable three-day adventure in the Cederberg to a perfect finish.
Your home away from home for race weekend is the incredible Kromrivier Cederberg Park, which has a number of accommodation options available to book.
Accommodation is available on a first come first served basis and is not included in your race entry fee.
Get your gang together and be sure to sort out your accommodation early as space is limited at Kromrivier.
